History of Phelps Development

Since 1937, Phelps Development's parent company, Hensel Phelps Construction Co. (Hensel Phelps), has grown to become one of the nation's largest general contractors, construction managers and design-builders, delivering over $2 billion annually in construction projects.

Recognizing that many construction clients had a need and desire for development services, ranging from planning and programming, to design management and financing, to move their projects to completion, Hensel Phelps began assisting clients with their development needs in the mid-90s.

The development arm of the company was later formed as a wholly-owned subsidiary, Phelps Development, LLC.

Phelps Development was established to augment the traditional construction services provided by Hensel Phelps and assist clients through the entire development process. Phelps Development tailors its services to the client's needs, ranging from assistance in the planning process to providing a complete turnkey solution, including construction financing.
